Safe altitude
With their low speed and excellent flying qualities, ultralight hang gliders allow for short take-offs and landings, which makes it possible to land in the countryside if necessary. To ensure optimum safety, we always fly high enough to be able to land, engine off, gliding to the airdrome or to a practicable field. The features of the new generation of wings, without a mat and with rigid and profiled uprights, improve flight comfort and the distance that can be traveled by gliding engine off (at 100 m high [~328 ft], ultralight hang gliders can hover over 1 km [~0.62 mi]).

Ultralight hang gliders
“Ultralight” means a lightweight, 1 or 2 seat(s) aircraft. An ultralight aircraft must comply with certain requirements, including maximum weight (450 kg for a two-seater, i.e. ~990 lbs), maximum engine power and limited number of passengers (at the most, the pilot and the passenger).Ultralight aircrafts, as standard aircrafts, must be approved by the Direction générale de l’aviation civile (General Direction of Civil Aviation) of the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy. The specifications are very strict.Ultralight hang glider wings are thus designed to withstand high stresses, up to 6 times the maximum authorized weight at take-off.Flight stability
The principle of ultralight hang gliders, with a powered trike unit suspended under the wing, brings a great stability to the flight : when the wing  moves  the trike remains stable. Thanks to their shape and “auto-stable” profile, delta wings return naturally and automatically to the equilibrium position, for a stabilized flight. Our aircraft, the GT-BI by Air Création, equipped with the Hazard wing, flies at around 500 ft between 60 and 70 km/h (~37-43 mph), and lands at less than 50 km/h (~30 mph).
